Presages 02:04
2.
The clock sound falls over us Like strong hammer blows Presage of a discouraging fate Mere bones that time will show An eternal regressive count A movement that never ceases Whose perception avoids our mind While years blur before our eyes We are barely a few seconds Between a large sea of hours Time claims everyone In its constant fateful show Like a neverending rite of cruelty acts In a hopeless progression that will end with all With its accurate advance towards the future Beyond there only nothingness reigns And no thing will be safe even the cosmos itself Everything we know is doomed to be destroyed Any trace of life will be erased by time Nothing will remain the most absolute void While each second falls in the middle of nowhere The bell that constantly sounds heralds another loss
3.
Decline 05:41
A lot of years have passed and barely life remains Their essence shave been lost awaiting for nothing The maelstrom of time caught all those bodies Reducing them to a skin where only bones are left Of them just one thing remains: a whisper, A forgotten memory of a past that won't return What does it matter what they were If their minds need to betray them? A self-deception that brings them closer Tot he same place where they were born Terrible withered shades, prisoners of their dusk Carrying a gaze already blind, unable to find themselves Now life doesn't have any sense but a long wait to be dust Who do their thoughts serve for but to nothingness To it will belong soon, like a unique entity Eyes which soon won't see, please wait for us Keep us in a place where wounds don't hurt
4.
Between the night the lost are shown There where our despondency sleeps Hazy memories of confusing shapes Of weak voices that were laid to rest Shades of absence that revive the wounds Whose flesh doesn't bleed until the silent dawn Candles of pale reflection Lights that veil the dreams Pilgrims of the sleeplessness In which every loss dwells Their glances are nails that drive so deep Along with all the words that were not said All these brief laments are carried by the night As unforgotten sights Result of a past that will forever last along our path
5.
A long shadow marks the place Where the clock hands turn around A corpse in an immovable hour Whose life has reached its dusk A shadow that gently swings Constantly shoved by time and wind A long and narrow black ditch Corpses some vast stone woods Of trees that are neither felt nor seen A presence to remember what we are Under those profound shades Neither death will stay forever In a lonely and melancholic rest ...And time keeps in its walk Over a soil covered by leafs In the distance a slender shape raises Emerging from the deepest ground From a place we still don't know Where our bones will meet its roots The shadows of time look for our flesh Patiently waiting to be the honor guests Maybe one day the cypress won't stand there But along our entire life its shadow will stay
6.
Silence 06:36
A profound silence bursts into the corrupt air Like an outrageous noise sounding from the void One last journey from human misery In which the last remains await silently There where the graves represent a comfort Grief and solitude have overtaken their souls In the ethereal contend Between silence and themselves Sadness only stays Behind their cold graves Doomed to leave alone to the land of the loss An eternal permanence, waiting for no one The lifeless hours where despondency sleeps Trapped all those defeated while every day creeps There's no success in a forbidden relief That sorely confronts all those false beliefs There are many oblivion heirs Of which you are slave So carry on hearing the silence Of your forgotten grave
7.
An impregnable crystal waits for us And behind it only a reflection A shaft of light that catches every one In a glassy jail of souls A place where life is only thoughts And nothing is remembered An image that exposes the misfortune Along a transparent perspective An extension of a pointless world That mists with every gaze And then we see our faces there One last mirror reflects our fate Those who see it are stalked by its beams A terrifying vision, what it shows is so clear After years wandering into fear Without looking at themselves Those mirrors we lost are still here To reflect our fate

about

Spain’s ATARAXY is perhaps one of the best kept secrets of Death Metal. Between their absolutely magnificent albums and a couple equally worthy EP’s, there is a small yet loyal following of this band who cannot be shaken. Festering in the Lovecraftian pits of doom-tinged Death Metal played with unforgettable atmospherics and high-quality songwriting (with phenomenal art and production never forgotten) there is no mistaking them. Their new offering opens with a glistening introduction of charnel hypnosis before descending into the depths once more. Once more it will be an instantaneously submerging experience for all whom dare tread their sepulchral pathway into abhorrence due to the expansive instrumental assaults that grip you with their many-tendril led approach. From discomforting vocals and eerie leads to the monstrous guitar riffs and contorted bass backed up by some truly hard-hitting drum work, everything works in unison yet slightly out of sync to bring you further into the nightmare of “The Last Mirror”.

This new opus, much like its predecessors, works best when listened to intently as a truly engrossing tale of dread and darkness, though individual songs still stand out on their own merits. Aside from the introduction, the band leads with the longest, most drudging track which will be an effective way at shunning away casual listeners, discouraging their unworthy ears from this ghoulish sonic entity that will only be truly appreciated by those with a keen and patient ear. Those special few will be entranced and rewarded by an album that is spectral and yet the violent blows it lands are unmistakably corporeal as they will leave you reeling. Continuing their own pathway, the sound is a very natural progression from their previous efforts, which have grown from strength to strength in their own burgeoning wormhole of profoundly superb music. Perhaps most noticeably, and without sacrificing and of the Death Metal savagery at the core of everything they do, the cinematic side of this record is tenfold stronger than most. In fact, like a self-elected prophecy of doom, their own epic nature has decided the course of the record to be a soundtrack to despairing carnage and intensity that no mortal can withstand.
